Catback ?
Catback ?
Can someone explain the relationship between Cat catback system and cat delete for the exhaust system. I know it has to do with emissions it's just always been a blur area with me thanks

Cat delete is a pipe that replaces the Catalytic converter.
Cat back is the exhaust system behind the cat..mainly the Y pipe and 2 mufflers (left and right).
Really it has nothing to do with Emissions..per say..as it is exhaust related and both of them have no control over any readings of the Emissions output. They are just Pipes.
It is the Catalytic that performs the reduction of emissions.,so If you take that out and off the exhaust system then you do alter the outcome of an emissions test.

EDIT: I should clarify, it depends obviously on how strict your jurisdiction is on emissions whether or not you will pass.
Yes. However you can probably remove the pre-cats (if they are still present at all, that is) and still pass emissions as long as you are fully warmed up when you get tested. And if you are looking for even more power gain (while still passing e-tests and not suffocating the motorists behind you with fumes), you can replace the main cat with a high flow cat.
