FL carb pro or con

With the problems ive been having with my 89 rx7 n/a (its just stock for street driving) someone suggested to convert to a weber carb and get rid of all the sensos and vaccum problems (the guy who rebuilt it set it up to run without alot of sensors and vac hoses) would it be bad or good

Sounds like the previous owner didn't do a very good job then. Disconnecting sensors just makes the ecu more likely to screw something up because it's not getting the information it needs. S5's have a limp mode that makes the car no fun to drive. Check for error codes, set your tps, buy a can of carb cleaner and go to town anywhere you suspect a leak.

I strongly advise against a carb swap because it requires you to buy a lot of new components and you'll lose a lot of driveability features built into an EFI system.

There's a reason new cars are all EFI. Don't take a step backwards, and just work on replacing what the previous guy removed. You're the victim of one of the many geniuses that remove "emissions" and end up taking all sorts of unrelated equipment with it. Unfortunately, this happens far too often.

Carbs require a lot more adjustment to optimize power and efficiency than does EFI. The only reason I could see for going with a carb is for race track use on highly boosted motors, which you plan to rebuild frequently.
