Car won't start up

Hey,

So I have a 89' FC Turbo-II.

When I first got the car, in order to turn it on, I have to turn the key two clicks, and let everything load (all the electronics and such), then I can crank the car on. Sometimes I'd have to wait a minute or longer to turn it on.

---

I just took it to Lucky 7 Garage over here in SoCal and they replaced the starter and relay. It cranked up fine when I was at the shop, but when I got home, I turned off the car, and when I went to leave later, it wouldn't turn on at all however long I waited..

Going to take it back to Lucky 7, but what could be the issue?

Have them check the actual ignition key switch. They are old, and are wearing out.

And what happens when you turn the key to start? Do you hear clicks or not or does it do something different?

When I turn the key to start it, it makes one click and nothing.

Go to the clutch pedal and locate the Interlock switch high up on the pedal. This switch has but two wires where one is Black/Green and the other is Black/Red. If the switch does not have these two color specific wires then you're looking at the wrong switch. Once you have located the proper switch jumper a wire from the B/G wire to the B/R wire and upon attempting to start the car check to see if the Black/Red wire has voltage w/key to start. If the wire does have voltage w/key to start and the starter still refuses to turn over then find connector X-09 which takes the B/R wire and mates it to the B/R wire connected to the starter. If this connection is poor then it could cause your problem.

The connector is X-08 and not X-09. It's located close to the firewall in the engine compartment near and below the trailing coil area..
