I have removed the switch for the drivers window. It was very burnt. While I wait for the new one, I would like to roll my window up. Can I just cut some of the wires on the switch and touch them to make the proper connection? I've read through a cpl threads showing how to rebuild the entire switch, but I think the wiring diagrams are over my head.

You can put 12v to the wire running to the window motor and that should bring your window up.

 

You need 12 volts from the battery and be able to momentarily attach them to the Window retractor motor.
That will feed the window motor in ONE direction....Then to get it to go in the other direction, be able to reverse the connections with those 2 wires to make the window go in that other specific direction.
..Think of it this way..You BOOST a Car with the cables attached Correctly..(window goes up)..YOU Mix the cables up ,The window goes down..hahha!
You only need to feed voltage to the window motor long enough to get it either UP or Down.
