A/C Condenser NEW are they still avail ?

Hello,

I have been looking everywhere on the net for new A/C condenser for an 82.

I find them for an 83 but they still don't look correct.

I thought 81 thru 83 were the same ?

My 82 has the hose attaching to the condenser vertically not horizontal like all the condensers I'm seeing on the net.

Anyone know who sells any exat replacements ?

Thanks
-pat

I don't know if there are any exact replacements but some companies sell generic ones. I just ordered one for my FD from Summit Racing. A vendor called Vintage Air has condensers in a variety of sizes. They also sell something called U bend em refrigerant lines. You would just have to check and see if these connections on these would match with the lines in your system or if not if there is an adapter available. A little bracket fab would also be required to make a generic fit.

I just ordered my unit and lines for total of $180 so they are not that expensive for a new unit. Absent using a generic you're probably looking at used for something that old. But do some searches and see if any Internet vendors have a direct fit available. With the new refrigerants you definately want a parallel (multi-flow) unit. Don't buy a serperntine unit that is just one long tube that snakes back and forth. Will not work well enough with the new less effective refrigerants.
