Buying advice

Hello all

So im looking to purchase and FD, and have seen one recently which seems like a good deal. Is there any info out there on pricing for FDs any threads on these forums?, I used KBB but also wanted opinions from people who have experience with them. Below are specs on the car I saw:

-93 Vintage Red R1 with just about 102k on the odo, and around 15k on a rebuilt motor (rebuilt 7 years ago) but rarely driven.
-Car is completely stock, and the current owner has had it since 94 with all service records. Turbos boost fine but are the factory original ones with 102k on them.
-The car looks practically brand new, no wear on the interior and it has had a high quality paint job done several years ago (matching factory color)
-Car is around 11.5k in terms of pricing.

Does this seem like a decent deal? With 100k on the turbos, how much longer can they last?

Thanks!

Get a compression test done anything below 85 stay away
Look at all paper work (motor rebuild ,mantince, car fax)
Any reliabiltity mods done yet (if not put like 1500$ away to get this done)
On the turbos it all depends on how well they were taken care of and what boost they were running. A turbo rebuild done by ur self is a cheap fix and not that hard once they r off the car.
11.5k is not is not a bad price
Look at this Buy a Used RX-7 it will help some

how much does a compression test cost typically? How long do they take? and can any shop do it or should it be a rotary shop?

What that car is worth in MD is different than what it's worth where I live, and probably different from the west coast. Maybe you should just do more shopping in your area and get a better idea yourself.
That said, based only on what you've posted, it doesn't sound out of line. FWIW, this isn't a winter car and we're coming toward the end of the driving season. Like selling ice cream in winter.
Go to the FAQ stickys in the 3rd Gen. section, scroll down to "B" for "Buying" and read through those threads/articles.
