Broken door handle "L" mechanism
Hi,
I recently purchased a 93 RX7. The drivers side exterior door handle did not work, so I pulled the assembly out expecting to find the plastic door handle broken.
Apparently, in this case the metal latch thingy opted to break instead. As best I can tell there should be a bottom flange. The door handle itself is undamaged.
I could not find any threads for this part breaking. Is there any easy DIY fix? Or do I need to shell out for a new assembly?
I will continue to search and think of a solution, but any pointers would be appreciated if this is indeed a common problem with a common solution.

AFAIK that isn't a common failure and can't think of any DIY fix that would work...at least not very long. You could go new but it might be pricey. You could work on your post-count and post up a Want to Buy (WTB) in the 3rd Gen. Pars section for a used one. Or send a Private Message (PM) to a guy named Fritz Flynn, another long-time member here who sells a lot of used parts. If you go either route, I think I might also post up that picture to make sure that bracket is included in what you buy.

Can't even wrap my head around how it broke this way.
