Blue smoke; Hard start :

88 Vert stock no mods ; First start of the day, I get a fair amount of blue smoke. When it's warmed up,sometimes it acts like it might be flooded, but does not smoke on start. Oil use on a trip seems average. I'm just getting used to this car, it has a little over 100,000 miles. We'r both retired [retarded] in our spark! We only go to play when it's nice out :

Does it smell sweet like coolant?

From my experience, REs tend to smoke a bit when they are cold, but it's only really an issue if it persists after driving it for a bit.

Coolant would burn as steam...white smoke.
Not familiar with the FC but some oil may be getting by the control rings or oil injectors. A little smoke isn’t uncommon on cold start. As for the hard cold start, have you checked/changed plugs recently, Plug wires, Clean injectors, Good battery, Compression check...in that order.

Thanks, for your thoughts on [blue smoke], No smell of coolant. Only smokes on first start of the day

Thanks, The hard start is only after it's warmed up; it acts like it's flooded, because if I give it full throttle it starts right away. Plugs & wires & battery all good; Will check injectors.

Sorry, I mis-read your first post. Could still be other things, but if you're confident the ignition and fuel delivery are good, low(er) compression is a common cause for hard hot start issues. If it comes to that here's a how-too.... Rotary Resurrection home of the budget rebuild.
