SO it seems that this is yet another issue with my car. when you give the car gas you can see the top recess a bit but there is no blow off after you let off the gas.

just some quick info;
the bov is an old school HKS SSQV, supposedly. i'm not sure if it's real or if it's an ebay rip off, the PO put it on.

If it has an adjustment screw, lower the boost threshold. If not/that doesn't help, you're probably going to need a new BOV.

 

all i can think that would be is the 'nipple' on the bottom which actually pretty much came right out, it didn't screw in at all.
i will try adjusting it though.
