bleeding clutch

Getting ready to replace my clutch line with a braided stainless steel one. I don't have a vacuum pump or any speed bleeders. I will be doing this by myself, my wife isn't much help to bleed it.

What do you guys think about running a line from my slave cylinder up to the reservoir, and pumping away? Wouldn't it push all the air bubbles out through the reservoir or am I over thinking it?

Seems like it should work. But I will say my mittyvac was the best money I spent in years.
