Bad Corrosion Under Battery 1987 TII
So I pulled the battery out of my car today to pull the engine and transmission for rebuilding, and found the attached picture. Looks like the battery leaked or some water puddled underneath the battery to cause the corrosion, which looks like it is on the frame as well as the surrounding area. Is this repairable? What do you guys think?

Anything is repairable with some sheet metal skills and a welder.
The flat area directly under the battery looks fairly straightforward. Cut out the old piece following the countour of the wheel well, drill out the spot welds on the flange that meets the vertical panel behind the headlights. Once you have the old panel out, fabricate a new one to match and weld it in place.
The frame is a bit more involved...there are multiple layers and until you get the rust cut out you don't know the extend of the damage. To access the area without driving yourself insane you'll probably want to pull the engine.
