I am a new kid (old fart) on the block, got a -87 RX7 Turbo ll used for speed racing (1 mile) and lately some Track Time on a local road track. Had a great time until engine got more tired than me…. Dissembled “the thing” and now got a lot of questions. ACROY on this Club got me started with a post and got a lot of fantastic response….. Thank you so much. BDC even got pictures from the time engine was built by him 7-8 years ago. I am now looking at different alternatives to get the car going again, one is to salvage the engine by lapping and nitrating the side housings and refreshing the rotor housing. I have contacted Goopy and Chips motorsport and both can restore the parts. Any experience out there with this?? Now, I know that this engine has a big bridge port and I have to back of the boost considerable, but like to stay around 12-14 psi. I plan to use only OEM parts on the rebuilt. I also like go back to S5 rotors, am I barking up the wrong tree on this alternative??
