Apex seals
oem seals is what i used and that was well over 100k ago. got them from a local racer, mandeville, many yrs ago. racingbeat and mazdatrix sell them as well as builders here on the forum. just search the forum, check build threads to see what others use, and the vendors section. i've read here that some have used RA seals.
The car I’ve bought is somewhere around 500 bhp there seems to be a lot of conflicting posts regarding what ones to use, I wonder is that determined on running it stock or a high tuned engine, don’t want to do it twice. That’s awesome if you’ve got that life out of yours. What’s your engine set up
Apex seals? What prompted you to inquire about them? Is your car not running properly or was it just the only internal part of the engine you've heard about? You realize that there are two other hard rotor seals in there (corner and side) too.
List your mods, porting etc.and what level of boost.

I’m awaiting delivery it’s a single turbo conversion, importer think approx 480 on 1-1.1 bar and 550 at 1.4-1.5 bar . On that information I want to be ready for a rebuild if somebody has pushed it . It has hks single turbo, hks v mount , hks ssv , hks fcon vpro , updated fuel pump hks evc and full titanium exhaust . Is anybody running similar mods and can confirm HP

to me an importer is just someone that ships cars to other countries, so to me their one in the same. if these guys really do know about the cars they deal with or the actual owner of the car ur buying then that's great. i'm just not too keen on taking somebody's word to be truthful unless it's the actual owner that i've talked to personally and done my own research. i just hope u don't end up getting screwed over in the long run cause i'm sure the final cost when it's all said and done aint cheap. good luck and post some pix when it arrives.
And 1.4 bar is about 20 psi. In most books, that's "pushing it".
You paid up front for a car you've never seen, with a unique motor and a host of modifications, neither of which you know anything about. I strongly recommend you stop worrying about how much hp you can claim to your buddies and start studying the stickys in the 3rd Gen. FAQ as well as the 'Single Turbo" section. As Michael said, good luck with the purchase and hope it's everything you expected.

so quick question- aside from a compression test, how can you tell when your seals are starting to fail? Is it something you can hear or feel in the engine or do you just have to kind of wing it one day with a compression test to find out?
