Apex seal question #XXX.00

Have a 13brew on order from Mazda dealer. I want to dismantle and install the best apex and water seals-might even polish the side irons (or is this a bad to do thing). Question is what is best-leave it alone- Mazda seals-Install RA seals or Atkins.

I will be installing new 99spec turbos for hopefully a dependable/slight boost
and any other slight mod suggestions?

If you're buying a reputable rebuilt engine, why rebuild it again?

Let me re-phrase that

Let me re-phrase that . If you were re-building an engine what apex seals would you use.
Atkins, Mazda, Rotary Aviation or? Is there any big advantage of one over the other?

I have torn apart 2 engines from stock 1 no damage the other apex damage to rotor housings.

You just have to realize that no matter what metal seals you use have the capacity to damage rotor housings under the wrong conditions. Some like premix, others it makes no difference because of the base material used causes uneven wear. Mazda has the best seal, hands down. Last longest and will stand up to normal abuse. If you can afford ceramics then rock on with those.

Carbon apex seals while they may not damage the surface, have no long time drive ability and remember that the spring behind them will damage the housing and rotor in the event of a failure.

First question you must answer is what is the engine being built for?

If your just going to be running 99 twins at near stock boost... the oem seals should be fine. Many cars have 100k+ miles on these seals. Save your money and invest in other reliability mods if you haven't yet - aluminum ast, boost gauge, upgraded rad, dual oil coolers etc.
