any coil gurooz

just want to no whats the difference between cdi coils and transistor coils
i would like some details about this please
ive been told they the same but from a unreliable source fort id ask u guys

They're not the same.

CDI = Capacitive Discharge Ignition. The ignitor steps up the voltage to several hundred volts, charges a capacitor, than discharges that into the primary of the ignition coil. The result is a seriously intense short duration spark. Most performance ignitions are CDI.

Transistor ignitions are far simpler. They just replace the breaker points with a transistor (or SCR, or MOSFET). Most ignitions in the '80s and '90s used a similar system integrated into an ignitor (like the 2nd gens).

ive done some research on this and found that u need to set the dwell time to 0 wen converting to cdi from trani
