Aftermarket head unit

I'm installing a JVC head unit and read the write-up on how to properly install everything. But I'm having trouble trying to get the stock brackets to work with this unit without having to drill holes, as I dont have a drill. It's a JVC KD-S36 if anyone has done the same thing.

sometimes you have to drill new holes or just oblong the ones that are there. Is it a single din or double din? Do any of the holes line up?

None of the holes lined up when I actually found my brackets. A lot of the the holes in the stereo line up with open parts of the bracket, so I may just have to make my own bracket.

I used the sides of the old bracket, and screwed them into the case that the Headunit comes with.
It works out good, there is one screw hole that looks indented in the Headunit casing that you can line up with a hole on the old bracket.

I'm assuming you're talking about the case that slides onto the headunit. Mine doesnt have holes drilled into it though. Ive been searching to see if I can find a template of the stock bracket and cut my own bracket for the headunit and cup holders I plan on putting in. So far I haven't found anything so I'll most likely flatten the stock one and trace a template.
