aftermarket gauges and wiring in 1989 rx7
im working on an 89 rx7. the thing is really well worn, but makes for the perfect start for a bare bones race car.
the first order of buisness is to get the electrical sorted out. the car had no wiring to speak of. bery hacked, incomplete, etc. i have all the switches for the lights, heater, sunroof, and horn. that is all i plan of retaining at the moment. that will all be strung together with an 18 circuit painless harness.
the istrument cluster is what im working with now. oil pressure, water temp, volts, tach, speedo, and fuel level gauges are all that i will be running. indicators for the turn, high beam, and a warning light for the nitrous being armed.
to that end, i cant seem to figure out what fuel level gauge i need. the manual says that the sender is a 6 ohms full, and 110 empty. i can find gauges, but none that seem to run backwards. what are you guys using?
also, anyone have a simplified pinout of the factory switches im going to be retaining? such as power, ground, function, etc?
thanks for any help for a japanese car newbie.

this link is in the first gen section but the link has the FSM, wiring diagrams, and parts manual up for free. If all else fails, go to a Mazda dealer and see if they can order you a fuel level gauge. GL with the build
