After market Radiator Fan Wiring questions

I decided to get a new radiator fan for my car today, and I am getting ready to put it in, and as you can see the old one is pretty eaten up, and I noticed that the old one had 4 wires coming from it and going to the wiring harness, while this new fan only has a total of 2 wires. Now I am not an electrical genius so I am asking here. How do I hook up this new fan so that I do not fry my entire system?

Do I just go black to black and blue to blue or what? Please help!

First pic is of old fan, second is of new fan, and third is the harness in the car. Yes if I do any clipping I will be saving the harnesses but I am just unsure of how to proceed. I have looked and am unable to find fans with 4 wires like my old one. So I am sol haha

Most people stick with the stock fans. There aren't any better aftermarket ones and wiring it would be a serious biatch - check the 3rd gen FAQ or search. It was really a pita for the few that have done it and gained little or nothing in doing so.

wiring is easy. the blue wire on the new fan will be +12v and the black will be ground. use a volt meter and check for 12v and ground in one of the plugs. since it already had elec fans, there's probably already has a relay.

well i got the wiring done, fans working but still the temp is coming up. I guess I need a shroud with these fans. Anyone know where to get some old fans...or something that will work? Summer is too short to not be driving this car.

Fans don't control coolant temps. If you are having issues with temps then your problem is elsewhere.

Post up details of the exact problem

Also go to the 3rd gen FAQ thread and read the coolant system threads to learn about how it works.

Hopefully he finally listened to the earlier recommendation and stuck with the stock fan and shroud. They're robust, move a lot of air and the shroud can't be beat. Good used ones are available and nothing on a street driven (and many track-only cars) are better. IMO the only reason to go to an aftermarket fan is if you're forced to by other major mods that won't allow space for it. But those are pretty rare.
