after a few days of DD

as i said in the title, i have driven my 7 for a few days now and i have noticed some things that i dont think are proper,i pulled a plug, looked like it has soot on it, black in color. i think i might be a tad rich, also is it normal to hear the exhaust valves slightly? i have heard piston engine vavle train's much louder when they are working proper, just wanted to know. also the random beep beep beep start up is about to drive me nuts, every time im ready to count the beeps it wont, then when im not paying any attention is beeps at me lol. the engine winds up pretty nicely but when i let off the gass, feels like it stumbles a bit. im thinking motor mounts/trans mounts are due as well as timeing to sovle the rough de-aceel. and lastly she handles like a dream, untell i hit a bump.. her **** feels like it shimmys a bit. but when i hit a hard corner( i mean hard) she tracks perfect and i can feel the rear wheel steering kick in verry nicely. is the shimmy from bumps have anything to doo the the toe steer bushing? or is this normal for a seven to do? becouse the fron is rock solid at all times. ohh yea i almost forgot. the last 2 or 3 times i started her, she would start, jump to about 2.2k rpms, then just start to die, i was able to hit the gas to save it from stalling out, then it runs perfect? is this BAC related? i pan to clean it, will throttle body cleaner work for it? and i plan to reset the TPS...the idle has starte to bouch ever so slightly..accroding to my facorty tack, its only 25-50 rps tops. any hints on how to remidy these probles would be verry much welcome, you guys know your stuff better than any mechanic i have been able to find localy(kansas). if you guys know abody in my neck of the woods it would rock. ok thats all thanks

There are no exhaust valves to hear.

Back plugs might mean that they are just very old. Swap in a new set and then examine their condition over a week or so.

Beeping is most often the power steering computer not seeing a signal from the speed sensor.

The car should not shimmy over bumps. What is the condition of the suspension/tires in general?

Certainly, clean the BAC. Carb cleaner or throttle body cleaner will work. Check for any vacuum leaks and properly adjust the TPS. An improperly set TPS will cause all kinds of little issues.

valve train in a rotary, that's some funny stuff rite thar. aaron pretty much covered it. as for the valve train in a piston engine, when working properly u don't hear it. and if u do it's usually the lifters ticking. in ur case any ticking u hear is probably an exhaust leak. really bad plug wires/boots will tend to arc outside themselves and u'll hear that. injectors can also make a ticking sound. describe what ur hearing.

i didnt think there were vavles in a rotary from all the stuff i had looked at, but it is a tapping sound, verry faint, its comming from the exhaust side on the engine(passnger side of the engine.). and the only thing i can compair it to is a noisy lifter...sorry thats the best i can give on it. but the exhaust leak sounds spot on, ill redo the manifold gasket when i delete the cats:P as for the suspension, its not the auto adjust, and its really really firm on the corners and under aggressive driving, i can even feel when the rear toe adjusts and the car pulls into the corner but on a bump the rear feels kinda like the sway bar isnt working/bushings might be burnt up, ill check later today. i'm not sure how the rear toe adjust feels when they are going out. btw i love this car far more than any other performance car i have ever owned, the way it grips in a corner in the condition of the suspenion is flat out amazing, i cant wait to freshen up the suspension on this little bugger. and for an n/a thats in decent shape it pulles very well also, i did take it for a hard drive after i was confident i wouldnt blow it up, and alot of the rough running must have been carbon build up, becouse the engine dosnt shimmy when parked and free reving lightly. ill pull the plugs and wires when funding allows it, maby in a week or so. thanks for the help guys

The tapping noise is probably just a minor exhaust leak.
