94000 miles 93 tt

What major things should I look for in the engine on a 93 twin turbo with 94000 miles on the clock? I think my friend said he might have seen oil spray in the engine bay pics. here is the posting.

If you are thinking about buying that car, first understand that it is very likely to need an additional $5k+ very soon. If you cannot afford this, pass on it.

If you can, find a local rotary shop to take it to. Take it there and tell them you are thinking about purchasing the car and want them to look it over. Have them check compression, look at the engine to see if they can tell if it is a rebuild or not, have them put a boost gauge on it to check to see if the turbos are running properly, drive it at highway speeds to check to see if the 5th gear is good or needs attention, and listen during heavy braking for any clunking in the rear end (bushings).

Start by going to the 3rd Gen fAQ thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/
Scroll down till you get to the various Buyer's Guides on the car. That should tell you all you need to know.

You should have a compression test done on the car to determine the overall health of the motor. The pics look pretty nice but that is way too much money to risk not doing a compression test. Here is a shop in TX: http://rx7.com/contact.html There are probably others as well. Scroll down to the regional section for TX to find local guys in your area.
