UT 90 Vert - Suspension

Had a minor fender bender (drunken ******* hit me)

Aside from the body damage, the front end of the car is sitting lower, mechanic says the struts are shot.

I am shopping around for new struts, and I'm also interested in replacing springs and bushings but being an amateur mechanic I'm not exactly sure what I need to replace.

If I definitely need new struts then is it a good idea to replace the springs as well?

If I'm replacing the front struts should I replace the back as well?

What other suspension components are probably aging and likely need replacing while I'm at it?

Should I get a set of polyurethane bushings?

Basically I need new suspension and I want to do the job right. At the same time I'm no performance freak I just want reliability for a daily driver. So far every set of springs sold for my year make and model seems to exclude the convertible model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

-Chris

Racing beat sells springs for the convertible model and will suit you just fine. KYB or Tokico blues will be a decent set of springs. The shocks you can get cheap on Ebay.

When replacing shocks, its best to replace all 4. And while there out its a good time to do the springs.

Bushings will really help the car, but they can be a major pain to do. I would start with the shocks/springs as that will be a fun easy project to start your wrenching skills.

Check over at www.re-speed.com

Billy is a great guy to work with, and you can ask him questions at the forum on his site. He hangs out here too, and gets us the parts we ask for. Racing Beat has some decent products, but they aren't exactly a member of this community.

Good luck.

I reread what I wrote, KYB and Tokico are shocks, not springs.
