NJ 90 gtu smoking exhaust?

just put a new front cover gasket, eccentric seal, oil pan gasket, water pump gasket. so previuosly it leaked and idled like ****, now it ppears to run alot better and doesnt leak but now once it gets to temperature the cat starts soking and when i shut it off it looks like smoke was coming out of the manifold heat shield. the car hasnt run in about a month or so because i had no time after i started taking it apart. any ideas of what it could be? i think it might be a clogged cat but im not sure.

Could be the results of a past flooding experience. I would continue to let it idle, and see if it goes away after a while. Also, check your fluid levels and see if anything is getting low.

If this turns out to be a coolant leak inside the motor, shoot me a PM for advice.

Good luck...
