so i just bout this 90 gtu with a few problems. the only one im a little nervous about is that it idles a little rough and im hearing popping noises coming from the exhaust. the idle bounces from about 1000-1300 rpms when it warms up that to me seems like iacv or something but im not sure im just hopping i dont need to replace apex seals or anything right now, and also wen i put it in gear the engine sound becomes much deeper even if im not revving or drivin. any help please!!

 

Test the TPS: http://howto.globalvicinity.com/gv_w...i=58&co=1&vi=1. Look for dead spots in the range, or if it's out of spec. You can also look for sources of air/vacuum leaks that will make the idle bounce around.

 

Adjust the TPS per factory specs.

Check for any vacuum leaks.

Clean the BAC valve and test its operation as per the FSM.

Change the plugs and wires.

thanks good info u 2 help me out alot, ive been messin around i think the popping is an exhaust leak, but it seems to go away sometimes so im not sure. but ill keep messin with it.
