88 na into 87 na wiring help
hello,
I'm in the process of swapping a 1988 13b na (the 88 has a cut harness btw) into my 1987 na. I know the injectors are different and some of the wiring? Anyways I was wondering what would be the best way of wiring it up. should I put the 87 injectors in it and wire it up using the complete 87 harness? should I cut the 87 harness and try to wire the 88 harness to it? If so what should I do for that? I a little new to all of this, so please bare with me.
Thanks for your time,
Ethan

Depending on what month the '87 was made, it could have exactly the same injectors and plugs as the '88. Late '87 models used high impedance injectors like '88s. It will be pretty easy to determine which setup you have. If there is a silver resistor pack with an yellow, oval plug up near the air box & the tab on the injectors is centered, you have low impedance injectors. If there is no resistor pack and the tab on the injectors is offset, you have high impedance injectors.
Either way, keep your existing harness and don't cut it up. If it's low impedance, re-use the '87 injectors. If it's high impedance, use whichever injectors are in better condition. You should probably consider having your injectors reconditioned before installing them anyhow. Local injector shops can do it, or places like Witchhunter can (http://www.witchhunter.com/).

Resistor pack is there, therefore it's low impedance. So, it looks like I will be using the old injectors and harness. (and looking into reconditioning my injectors)
Thanks for the help
