I am about to be the proud owner of a rx7 (hopefully) and i found one that is in great shape body wise, but the engine has an oil leak from where the engine meets with the transmission. I realize the job means alot of work, but im getting the car for 1000 as is and it runs pretty good now. Would that be a good buy for 1000? then i can do a rebuild or a swap in a few thousand miles. any advice would be awesome!

 

1k is a cheap price if the top and everything else is in decent shape.

 

If EVERYTHING else is in good shape, then yes, the car is worth it... BUT, chances are, everything else ISN'T in good shape lol.
