'86 N/A Radiator Part Identification

Hello,

I have a rubber gasket looking deal on the top of the elbow leading from my radiator which has a crack in it. I have been trying to identify the part with the parts fiche but have had no luck finding it. I was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head the name or part number (or even the D-code)? Thanks in advance.

Radiators, Caps, Water Level Sensor Halfway down the page. The part is plastic with an o-ring underneath to seal it against the thermostat cover.

Hmm... so I was planning on machining the part out of metal because of how expensive these are. Then something caught my eye..... there seems to be an overflow spout on the new one, but the one on my car has a little stub like a spout but its plugged (manufactured that way). So is it better to have the overflow plugged?

It depends on the radiator setup of the car. If your radiator has another cap and overflow line already, you don't need two of them.

there are 2 types as noted in the Mazdatrix link that was given to you.
One with overflow nipple and one without.
If you run the overflow nipple you must have a pressurized cap.
The one without the nipple runs a Flat cap.
