86 gxl sputters after 5 minutes of driving

Hows it goin guys. I have a 86 gxl with 150000 miles that sputters after 5 minutes of idling or driving. It normally clears up after about 30 seconds of holding the pedal but when it does this it loses power or cuts off. When itry to crank it back up it takes a minute to crank and most cases i have to hold the pedal to the floor to get it fired back up. Any ideas of what to check? im kinda lost and dont want to start pulling my hair out.

I changed the fuel pump about 2 years ago, replace the computer about a year ago and chaged the cat to a test pipe from atkins rotary.

Do you have any idea if the fuel filter has been changed, if not, that would be a good place to start. Also plugs and wires if they haven't been done. I would definitely start with preventative maintenance as these cars like to have fresh everything all the time. Good luck.

I changed the fuel filter and wires and plugs but its like its flooding out. Is there any kinda sensor that would make it flood when it starts getting warm? i changed the temp sensor by the alternator.

that temp sensor is the only thing that comes to mind, in terms of sensors that might cause excess fuel. however, have you checked the TPS or have you had your injectors serviced? TPS might explain the sputtering you mentioned, and a leaky injector might explain the excess fuel.

i havent had the injectors checked but i did set the tps using a multimeter last year sometime. Could it be the vane air sensor or o2 sensor?
