OR 85 rx7 gs ignition switch ?

Hello . I have a starting prob, I got a new batt and starter and nothing. Then took it to a mechanic he says I fried my ignition switch wires and need a new one. I couldn't pay for it at the time so now i can buy the part but dont know how to install or remove . And not sure is do i need a key ignition too cause it can't stay in the on position after trying to turn it over ?

u had it towed there? did the mechanic actually look at it and if so how much time did he spend diagnosing the problem? sounds like he's guessing. start with the obvious. make sure all bat and starter terminal connections r clean and tight and u have a good ground. check the small wire that connects to the spade connection at the solenoid is getting 12v when the switch is turned to start. the neg cable should connect to a trans bolt or starter mounting bolt.

Yea i got it towed , he gave me a answer same day or next day . I have good connections now full power when i fully turn the key. It tries to turn over and start but when its time to let go of the key it all turns back off , like i have no "all power on position" with the key .
