85 Rear Housing - removing from shaft

Does anyone know why a rear housing will not come off the shaft ? (Gen1 1985).
All the bolts are out it will lift off about 1/2 to 1'' then hangs?

Dowel pins stuck?

Try hitting it with a soft hammer.

is the shaft lifting up with the housing? sometimes the housing need some persuasion to get them separated. but if the shaft is lifting with the housing maybe it's the bearing in that housing stuck to the shaft.
