NY 85 GSL Stalls

New to the Rotary world and Rx7's. Happy to have a 1985 GSL. Starts good, engine strong, but when I stop at stop sign or light it stalls and dies. Thinking need to rebuild the carb. Seeking advice - Rebuild the Nikki Carb? or replace with some other carb? if replace then what carb?

Leaning to rebuild of Nikki Carb.

welcome to the board.

so basically it's not idling? if that's the whole story, then start with the simple things. check for vacuum leaks before condemning the carburetor. if it does come down to rebuilding it, then as long as you have dedicated place to work and you are at least decently detail-oriented, then you can do it. requires A LOT of cleaning

Diabolical is right, there are a lot of places for vacuum to leak. Carb rebuild is actually easy, and I'm just a cook. You just need a place to do it away from prying 4 year olds.

Thanks cook. I've got a good support "team" helping and the advice and knowledge here is well appreciated. Looking forward to solving the stalling problem so I can really enjoy the car
