I have a 87 rx and i was woundering if i could and what i would have to do to put a 3rd gen twin turbo into my car. is it worth it how much would it cost me. is it just a matter of getting a new computer and the wiring harness or should i stick with a 2nd gen motor i currently have a non turbo and i am deffintly going turbo but want to explore the possibility of the twin turbo3rd gen motor any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated. thanx

No, it's generally not worth it.

Using the stock FD ECU is very limited and only really good for stock power levels. That's still 250HP so nothing to sneeze at, but presumably you're also going to upgrade the exhaust, intake and intercooler. You are now outside of what the FD ECU can handle reliably, so you're looking at a standalone.

Also the engine doesn't bolt in, there are clearance issues with the downpipe and intake, and a whole host of other problems.

See the 2nd gen FAQ for REW swapping info.
