3000 rpm idle?????
Hey guys. I recently got a idle problem after speeding on the access road. My Nikki recently just got rebuild. I recently replaced the vacuum hoses except for the hoses leading to the brake booster. After we punched it on the access road, the car started to idle a 3000 rpms. So we decided to figure to pull in the side and figure it out. After turning it on, the car remain to stay 3000 rpm at start. The next, I decided to start it up hopefully it was gone but it automatically jumped to 3000 rpms!! Before the rebuild the car used to idle 800 and you'd had to pushed in thhe gas until it was able to idle on its own. But now it just jumps straight to it without any hesitation. Please help guys

Have you checked the Return spring on the Carb to make sure that it hasn't fallen off?..

well I did say nikki and carburetor nothing about turbos. so I assumed I was talking about straight N/A . but I was thinking it is vacuum leak. after the carb rebuild and tuning, the idle was at 1200 because of the throttle spring.changed it, and went down to 800 like normal. but the 3000 rpm idle happened after I punched it. my theory is that after the punched the carb finally broke in and settles everything right, causing the tuning of the car to go way off and cause that 300rpm stall. can it be this or a vacuum leak. the big vacuum that I have in my car is from the intake to the brake booster. the others are small and rerouted back to the carb emissions delete)

Okay so today I decided to drive it today to probably figure out and narrow things down. After the run, I concluded that a vacuum may not be it. When it's a vacuum leak, the car tends to idle at the same spot no matter what. Well today my 1980 rx7 now idles at 4000 rpm after the drive. 3000 to 4000rpm idle?! What I think is that carb is junk now. The 4000 rpm idle occurred after I decided to redline the car. So carb is garbage now?
