2 problems
yea i have an fc and my gas guage wont move from empty and im not sure if its the fuel sending unit or if its just the floater itself(yes the car has gas)....and my second problem is that when i hit potholes my tranny moves i have tried tightening the bolts but the tranyy has play (about 5 inches) i can push it up and it willl come right back down, i dont kno whether to get a hole new tranny crossmember or what ........... anny advice/ solutions

Replace the transmission mounts. The center mount in the crossmember is probably responsible for most of the movement. Also check the engine mounts while you are there.
It is likely that the fuel level sender is bad. But first, test the gauge. Get a 50 OHM resistor and connect it in place of the sender. The gauge should move when the car is keyed on.

The crossmember houses the center mount which locates the rear of the transmission. It's likely that the inner bushing has broken free of the rubber and is just allowing the tail to bounce around on the two side mounts.

i forgot 2 mention i have taken out the trannny crossmember before and when i took out the bolts in the center of the tranny mount there is like a round area and this piece fell out from there and im pretty sure its suposed to be int there lik 1 hole piece
