1997 JDM RX7 rx7 fd 12B REW ENGINE SWAP**HELP**
I have a 97 13B REW that has low compression across the board. I need to know what my options are for an ENGINE SWAP?
Can I swap a 92-95 13BTT as long as I use the wiring harness and ECU from the JDM engine? Can I try using my original ECU? Should I use a Apexi Power FC?
Your assistance is much appreciated.
Regards,
Darcy

kind of late with a response but to answer your questions....
if you have low compression and the motor still runs then you need a rebuild, not a swap. its more cost effective and is a better solution in the long run.
the motors are all pretty much the same throughout the fd with negligible differences. if you were to swap the motor then you would transfer over all the parts from your original engine on to whatever year block you get your hands on.
you will NEED to use your current engine harness and ecu. you can go power fc if you want but on a stock set up, there arent any real advantages to be had. it wouldnt hurt to get it, just keep in mind that you will absolutely need to get it tuned right away
