1993 side mirrors dont work smoothly

Hello,

So when I use the switch to move the side mirrors, it seems to hesitate to move left, right and down, but wont move up when I press on the up position of the switch.

Could it be the switch or the mirrors themselves?

This is for my 1993 Rx7 base model.

Could be either one...or both. But you said they're not working smoothly. To me that suggests that the small plastic gears maybe stripped.

Update:

Took the power side mirror switch apart. Appeared that the old electrical grease was more like stiff gunky grease and must of not letting the metal parts within the switch to move I guess. Well I removed all the old grease and coated the new parts with new electrical grease.

Put everything back together and works like a charm. Side mirrors move up, down, left and right like it should.

Just be careful if anyone else is doing this. There is a tiny metal ball and a spring, loose that and your gonna need to buy another switch.
