1993 Coolant help!?

Basically I'm hoping I dont have a housing seal leak, looking for some pointers to confirm! Quick history....I put a J spec in about 1 1/2 ago, ran great until the fan shroud melted....eek! So I just finished putting a fat aluminum radiator in, and some new fans. I also put a nice air separator in, and a t stat.

Now when I am trying to bleed the coolant, it just goes crazy!!! Gurgling bubbling steaming and spitting, but the temp gauge never goes to HOT and there is no smoke coming from the tailpipe?? I seriously spent like an hour turning the engine on and off thinking it just needed to burp really bad.....but no luck!! I am using a coolant funnel too!

Whats the next step here? Did I blow my housing seals, or is it just giving me a hard time bleeding?

FDs don't fill easily with coolant. I recommend you buy a Lisle coolant funnel and use that to get it full. I lived without this thing for some years but it's only $25. Buy it, enjoy it, move on with life.

A less easy way is to fill coolant through the cap above the belts and when it fills up, squeeze the upper radiator hose to make the air bubbles shake loose and rise. A lot of air will come out this way. Also disconnect the coolant hose right next to the firewall at the throttle body - it's the highest point and it gives air someplace to go. Then on the first drive, bring distilled water and a big junk towel along because there can still be air that burps out. If you get a low coolant buzzer, pull over, carefully pull the cap using the towel so you don't get burned, and top off again. If you have the funnel you can avoid all of this and fill coolant in just a few minutes.
