WA 1991 RX-7 Turbo - MORE HELP

Researched several aftermarket intakes, the majority of them bypass the salvage air/smog pump. I live in Washington State (no emissions), do I lose anything by getting rid of this pump.

Please tell me why you all are removing the air pump? It makes no sense to remove it. Oh...you don't need to pass emissions in your area? That's reason to remove functioning hardware? If it runs fine with it why spend the time to remove it? Sometimes, you guys just don't make any sense.

Look, if your new intake doesn't have a fitting for the air pump hose, pull your air pump hose off the air pump, go buy a short section of hose and put it back on the air pump and put a mini air filter on it. Or you can just cut a hole in the back and screw in a fitting from home depot / Autozone / wherever. You'll continue to provide me with clean air to breathe and not stink up your clothes and your girlfriends clothes. On top of that if you decide to sell the car, you can put the original parts back on and get the higher value for a "closer to stock car" than one with block off plates.

Come on guys, seriously. Try to understand what your doing before you just repeat the BS that you read in order to feel like you contributed a worth while answer.
