1988 Non turbo starting problem

The exhaust is not hooked up yet, I have all new fuel lines, new pump and new filter. I can get it to start, but it only runs for a few seconds and shuts off. Any ideas... could this be related to the security not being hooked up? Are there any ways to bypass?

If the AFM is plugged in then jumper the fuel check connector and verify that the fuel pump works when the key is turned to the on position.

If you have the factory alarm, it would prevent you from starting the car at all. If you wanted to bypass it you would jumper the Black/Green wire to the Black/White wire at the starter cut relay plug.
