1987 RX7 stock Starting/ignition issue
So I picked up my first RX-7 today. It's a 1987 obviously Gen 2. All stock except for K&N intake, Tokico shocks, eibach springs, and a fuel cut off switch to prevent flooding. It did have a stereo system in it previously (I know nothing about it).
I bought it "not running" for $500. He was not sure what was wrong. It doesn't leak a drop of anything and he didn't know what was wrong with it.
I have since gotten home and using knowledge I have of engines (not rotaries) I have managed to get it cranking, but it is not firing. I followed leads as best I know how. There appears to be no spark coming from the Leading or Trailing coils. What would be the next step in getting it to possibly fire?
I know several people won't be thrilled, but I'm not keeping the rotary. Switching to a small block chevy most likely. However I'd still like to get the engine running for now to test/check other things and get it to DMV to get tagged. (also plan to sell engine later)
Thanks in advance for the help.
