1983 RX7 need help!
So I am getting a friends 83 Rx7 with 50k miles running again after 20 years or so of sitting. First thing I did was try to educate myself before I even touched the thing so I did alot of reading online about rotary's. I ran a compression test to check the apex seals. Front rotor 85psi and rear 90psi. Next I pulled the fuel tank and cleaned it then replaced the fuel pump, lines and fuel filter. I didn't do anything to the carburetor because I am scared to touch the thing!!
But after a few days of getting new gas in it the car started and idled perfect! The problem that I am having is that it is hard to start when its cold and when I get it warmed up and running it will run fine. I can rev it to 5,000rpm no problem but after awhile it will just start bogging down and die. I can let it sit for maybe 10 seconds and it will fire up and idle perfect again. Another thing to note is that I am at 7,000Ft above sea level. So could it be something to do with the altitude compensator??
Now I've been reading on sterlingmetalworks.com and I believe the problem could have something to do with the Fuel Bowl Valve Soleniod??? If someone could give me an explination on what this does exactly would be great as I dont fully understand it.
I will try to get some pics of the car for you guys because its in very good shape and I know I dont like reading long boring threads without pics!
I figured out the fuel problem, those screens on the bolts that bolt the fuel lines to the carb were filthy!! Anyways here's those pics.....car has 50,730 miles on it. I don't mean to make this sound like a for sale thread..but I was wondering what a car like this may go for because the owner may consider selling it.

Wow look at that sexy targa band...
You came to right place for all your questions. Anything you're wondering about you'll probably find here, plus all the smart guys that I read to make my car run real good.
My advice: BUY THE CAR AND DON'T LOOK BACK.
-> and tell him we all said it was worth like $500 when you buy it.

Thanks for the advice guys, Im actually not looking to buy the car. I just got it running for him. He said he may be intrested in selling it and if he was I'd like to see it go to someone who knows and appreciates these things. Everything works on it too.
So the owner asked if I could replace those plastic covers that are on the inside A-pillar....is there anyone who remakes these or are they real hard to find?
