1983 mazda rx7 need information or guidance

TX 1983 mazda rx7 need information or guidance

so here is my 83 rx-7 i purchased

couldn't get it to start put a new battery then realized the starter was seized,after installing new starter i realized the fuel tank was rusted beyond repair. so i got a new fuel tank i suspect could fit. any information would be greatly appreciated as this is my first rx-7 rotary.

this is the old gas tank that was to rusted to be repaired
new tank current gas tank that i wanna know if i can modify to install instead

Don't let the rotary scare you. Aft of the engine it's like any other 80's (carb'd) car. Check out the 1st Gen. Sticky at the top of this section. I believe you'll find a link for a downloadable Factory Service Manual that will come in handy.

One tank looks like it is used for a Carbed engine while the other is for a EFI engine(pump in the tank).

i checked them both and neither had a pump in tank
