1983 axle shaft removal.

Hi I'm trying to pull the axle shafts so I can replace the bearings. Is there clips or a retainer in the differencial. I'm pulling on it but it's not going anywhere

no clip. Did you remove the bearing retainer?

if u removed the 4 bolts of the retaining plate, the axle should just slide out. although, the outer bearings do tend to get stuck in the ends of the axle tubes. axle/dent pullers usually work well for this.
