WV 1982 Fuel Pump

I have never replaced the fuel pump on my 1982 RX7, it is hard to start, but will kick right over with a shot of starting fluid. So, I feel that my fuel pump is shot. Where is it located. The manual I bought, said it is behind the rear storage glove box, on the drivers side. It is not. Do I have to drop the tank to get to it?

based ONLY on what you've presented, you can't condemn the pump just yet.

1. when it starts, how does it run?
2. what about starting effort hot versus cold?
3. when was your last full tuneup?

you may also want to look closely at the carburetor itself.

^ exactly. My 1st thought would be accelerator pump. Which a rebuild would cure.
