My odometer $#! 7 the bed and burnt out. I bought a used speedometer with lower mileage...and i'm currently in the process of turning it forward to match the original. (Im honest)But when I make the drill press faster its maxed out at 3km per minute (180kmh). I heard there was a limiter wire in the console.
But what I want to know is if I cut that wire, is the odometer going to go any faster?

If I remember it right, Jerry replaced his dash panel & explains resetting the donor odometer.

 

I forgot to mention it's a 92 FD3s(my car is on the avatar) and the odometer is digital. At first the display kept dieing intermittently until it stopped. I took the circuit board out and saw that it had a couple places burned out through the board. I read the thread, but it was a mechanical one you pointed at.

Heres my drill press odometer forwarding setup:

I used electrical tape on the drive it runs very smooth no vibrations. And if something goes wrong and spins wildly. The wires around will hopefully get tangled and switch it off.
