13B-RE with Microtech and Quadspark ignition issue
Hello I’m new to the forum any help would be appreciated. I have a 13bre Cosmo with an lt10s and a QUADSPARK ignition module in place of the x4 it’s a 4channel ignition module. Now when I start it. The engine idles at 460-570 rpm and wont accelerate, no throttle response.my question is has anyone used the quadspark with microtech is it even compatible
The QuadSpark was not intended to be specific to any particular ECU. If you have questions about using it on an ECU not listed, or have made the QuadSpark run with an ECU that isn't on our list and would like to tell us how you did it, please contact our technical support team. Select your ECU from the list below for a detailed write-up:
message them.. they are the only ones that are going to help you
they have the settings as going positive ( + ) or ( IGBT ) for the MS2
however their advice for the EMS ecu appears to be the opposite
by your description it appears to be firing with an incorrect trigger edge
and thus has no dwell
this may be the input trigger ( from the CAS , either wiring or input settings )
this may be the spark output trigger ( from the ecu )
this may be both
they all have to be correct for the correct trigger edge and "on " period to coils to happen
if certain you have the CAS wire colours correct
then you may try inverting first the spark trigger edge,, as the BIP 373 should be current limiting and will just turn off till cold
( i believe the warning was for the previous driver they used )
you will know instantly if it is correct
if no go.. go back to rising spark edge ( IGBT ) and try inverting the CAS input trigger
I tried switching triggers:
Input negative (-) and output to igbt (+)
Input to positive (+) and igbt (+)
Input to negative (-) and output to negative (-)
Input positive (+) and output negative (-)
I have the dwell set at 4.00ms
The engine starts and does the same with every configuration I throw at it

The engine started ok and had throttle response before I went with the with the quadspark.i was using a s6 igniter from a FD I just could not lock the leading ignition timing at 5atdc yellow mark it was off due to the waste spark. So I’m assuming the wiring is good. But I double check to make sure with my fluke and all wiring from the CAS and ignition outputs are fine.
ok.. first be sure you have used the engine block for ground for the quadspark and it is on there good
next,, re-order the input and output wire pairings
ie,, use output 1 for l1 ,, and output 3 for t1 and output 2 for l2 and output 4 for t2
this is to put them out of phase with each other and ensure 180 degrees of separation between igniters ganged off the same power feed
alternatively you could try cutting the input wire for both trailing plugs to test only the leading circuits,, and moving l2 along each channel till you find the correct ganging
ps.. go back to + input trigger ( micro pref ) and to IGBT spark trigger ( + )

so I tried switching around the inputs and outputs still no change I check to make sure the block had good ground and it does and the module is grounded to the block..now on the megasquirt v3.0 and v3.5 requires resister wired in series with the inputs..could that be my case../
