13b bp starting question!

Just a concerning question!

Yesterday I went and looked at a rx7 s3 13bbp that was for sale. It's got 48mm Ida webber..all the expected requirements to run this set up. When I got there it was already started and running (which is already a sign of saying she doesn't start so well). But anyway I looked over it and over all and I was generally happy with it.

I know a little about these engines but not enough to be exact.

It actually drove quite nice and was very responsive. And the owner said there was about 100k+ done on this bridge engine (which I thought was high for a bridgeport?). Anyway I'm going back tomorrow and the owner said I can perform my own compression test. And I told him to have the car dead cold when I get there this time.

So with starting.. Should a bridgeport simply start over with just turning the key? Or are you actually suppose to pump the accelerator a few times (before turning the key) to send some fuel down the webber? I'm just looking for key components of when starting a cold motor, as that's when you can relize if something isn't right. I just want to make sure there isn't anything I'm going to miss!

Any info will be great help!

Thanks
