CA 130 taurus alt swap

Okay so i just yesterday did the ford taurus alternator swap and ive noticed that the only wire that connects to the alternator on my 86 n/a s4 is the black/white wire. So my question with this is i hooked up with just that one wire and its working good, but what do i do with the white/black or where do i connect it?? And what is the purpose of that one if anybody knows??

Thanks for any help in advance.

The thread connected with the link uses a build on an rx7 s5. Im sorry just trying to make sure cuz im bad at this electrical wiring stuff, and also posted this cuz i have gone through several threads and one or two say to use the white/black wire, and some have said to use the other. Currently ive been running the black/white wire and its been working good so far.
