MI 12a rotor housings

Hi everybody! We recently purchased a 1979 rx-7 limited from an elderly gentleman, he said that it was just backfiring a little....uh huh sure just a little.... well it turned out to be a whole lot! and after following some of the directions on here we did a quasi compression test and the front rotor seems to be putting out 2/3's less compression than the rear which seems to be awesome! there was no oil in the engine when we got it so we added fresh oil and a filter fixed the oil cooler lines were repaired so that it wouldn't leak the oil out of it any more and when we drained the oil back out of it again to remove the motor from the car there was lots of silver dust in the drain pain...so we are going to rebuild the whole motor and looking for the rotor housings...any help would be awesome! thanks Huggs and Kisses Becky

Take a look in the classifieds section for used 12A housings. They are getting a bit hard to find these days so if the old ones spec out, then there is no reason not to reuse them. Any silver/copper dust will have come from the bearings so with any luck, the housings are fine. Sounds like someone let the car run low on oil due to the leaks.
