CA 12a housing repair

Are there any shops out there that can repair 12a housings? Or, are they a one hit wonder?

Depends on the damage. There are a few shops that do resurfacing/reconditioning but that does nothing if you have excessive chrome flaking. There use to be a company that offered a coating service (cermet) it was crazy expensive depending on which coating you wanted and from what I heard didn't hold up to well. You best bet if you do have excessive wear is to source out a set of good used housings since new ones are extremely rare and pricey or you can get a set of 13b housings that have been killed to 12a spec.

This is probably the only option for "repaired" housings you will find.

79-85 12A Rx7 Re-Tooled Rotor Housing (ARE128)

You may have to hunt down some used ones, or a whole engine.

Yeah, I heard of that coating. But, I also heard it wasn't good. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, I'll be better off buying another engine. Might be a good time to go T2.
