[FD] Removing the rev buzzer

Hi all

I need to remove the rev buzzer from my FD. The engine is modded, the redline was moved over the original rev buzzer limit and I've made a shift light.

But I can't find it.
I've checked the cluster instrument without finding anything looking like a buzzer, and no buzzer on the mazda wiring diagram.

I've seen some other thread taking about informations regarding the buzzer, but can't find it too.

Thank you for you help

Why would you want to remove it, that's probably one of the coolest things about an rx7.

Lol

Because my engine is modded, the rev limit is around 7900rpm. So the buzzer is running every time when I'm on track over 7k ! And I'm often over 7k

It's really annoying...

Then yeah that would be annoying, I don't know if there's a way to raise the rpm at which it engages but its a thought.

I think it can't be changed, there is no option on the PowerFC to modify it. And I've made a shiftlight to replace it.

That's why I want to completely remove it.

have you looked on the backside of the gauge cluster (bottom middle)? IIRC its on the circut board, and you'll need to undersolder it to get it out. looks like a little white box, and the speaker is only 1 inch in diameter (roughly)

Yes, I've check all the cluster and didn't find anything looking like a buzzer or speaker. The circuit board of the tachometer is very small and simple, and nothing on the circuit board regarding to the speedometer.

I'll have another look to find the "little white box"

EDIT: After looking for pictures of the board I found this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...oblems-651138/

There is a pictures of the speedometer board with a 'BUZ' marked at the top, I'll look further is this direction.
